| Hello there, this is the fourth try at a Pendor-inspired roleplay forum. | |

| Hello there, Aelos,
is this actually going anywhere? Are the players from AKD joining? I'd be most amazed to see a new RP kicking off.

| This is certainly going somewhere, but I won't be introducing it until the second event on AKD is very close to ending. That doesn't mean you can't write a bio already and in the meantime give me some feedback of what you think is missing. | |

| As far as I have looked at it, I like it. Only thing bothering me is the map of Singal. Mordred made one back for the Eventide's Singal event in Aftermath. It was pretty elaborate, so we might use it here as well. Have a look at - Code:
-
popaftermath.forumotion.com/t8-the-city-of-singal . It's post-unification, but most of it should be usable. (I gave your old account Sir Haegon there sufficient permissions to read all the old events, so you have access to all information that might come in handy here. Tell me if you need more information, say, from the chapterhouses or backrooms or whatnot - secrecy is no longer an issue, heh.)

Oh thanks! I've been trying to find Aftermath stuff on the Eventide EDIT: The extent to which this is detailed worries me, though. It allows for great casual roleplay, but it seems created for metagaming. As this will be story driven, I don't want players to get caught up in unnecessary details. Nevertheless, I'll have an extended look at it and see what I can do over the weekend.

| Yeh, just cut out the details we don't need, like how to influence the different councillors and the direct military control of the districts and so on.
PS: I recommend having a look at the Eventide's actual roleplay in Singal to see how they used this information in it. (Apart from that they did some rather good roleplaying there.)

| As it happens I still have the .psd file I made that map from, so you can add / remove details as needed but still use the same base map. PM me your email address and I will send it to you.
Otherwise, if memory serves, the template used is actually Cairo. Use googlemaps, and you can zoom in / out as much as you need and still have the river and island setup which made that city so interesting (though you would then have to manually add the walls and roads).

| @Ealdred Larian horse and arrows are fine, I'm not going to be strict on simple matters like these. Standard WP will be 2. For both Orders. Also, unflappable will be harder to acquire, since both Order will have to deal with stress and dark heresy that will be far strenious on the nerves than a battlefield. Either take another, or create a more sound reason why he would be unflappable. I'll add you to the usergroup when you do. | |

| Ah, sorry for that, then. I thought of Unflappable more like something as "being able to keep a cool mind in combat and under (common) stress", not being mentally invulnerable. The former would fit well with having experience from battling the Jatu, in my opinion. Is there an appropriate trait reflecting that? | |

Not really. But you can assume every character has this to a certain degree. Everyone is a knight, after all, and not choosing the trait shouldn't mean they'd run round screaming whenever they encounter a hostile party.

| I changed unflappable to Horseman. I think this is plausible considering him being a steppe noble. Would that be alright? | |

| Urgh I should not post before finishing my thoughts. Made it Finesse instead, due to Clarion Call training and their more agile fighting style.
PS: Hope I'm done now. Mayhaps I should shut down my brain for today.

Singal is one big gutter, you'll feel right at home within the first few days. That said, welcome guys! I hope you see the same amount of potential in this version of Pendor as biased me.

Starting Renown Note: PCs begin with 1 weapon of their choice, armor of their choice, Courser. In addition to this, 50 renown is awarded which may be spent on additional equipment. It's all there: https://poprenewed.forumotion.com/t6-rules-and-character-creation#13

| Ya, i asked the question because i saw you buy all your equipment Earldread. If i remember right we also got a free shield? or was that only for adventurers? Additionally, - this part:

Rules and Character Creation: The Introduction
After you've decided on an Order, it's time to create a character! The biography of your character will need to include how they came to join the Order. Each Order is distinct in some way, so make sure the story fits. Characters are generally assumed to be heroes/officers of the Order, to justify going on solo-missions. Characters can certainly be of lesser rank, even squires, if that is your choice. There is nearly infinite room in this aspect of character creation, just use your storytelling abilities to make it work! It should be noted that PCs will not be the Grandmaster, or second in command, of their Order at creation. They may be senior officers, however. If you desire your character to be a senior officer, please ask permission via PM first.
In addition to the biography, your character will have certain concrete traits. While a good RP rule is 'Don't say your character is a great tactician, just RP them that way' we do use some mechanics in GM decisions. To help create a fair game, we have a trait system to handle certain aspects of characters. Select only the traits that fit your character, don't go for god-like power, and please create your character before deciding on traits. Otherwise just follow the instructions in the Traits thread.
After you've completed all of the above, and had it approved, there is one final step. Each new character receives 50 renown to spend at the start. This is not so much 'free renown' but to help your backstory fit your character's current status. As such, that 50 renown may be spent on something that is worth more than 50 renown if it fits into the backstory. Characters begin with the default equipment of their Order, at the 'regular' skill level.
Here is a summary of your to-do list:
1. Decide which order you'd like to join. 2. Create your character and write his or her biography. You'll be added to your order's secret board shortly afterwards. 3. Read the contextual information on your order's board. Try to make sense of the ideology, but know you're a free mind. 4. Spend your renown points. 5. Slap a random commoner.
is also confusing since it alludes to the default equipment of the knights we controlled in Kingdom divided, since we don't control units anymore what does it mean?

My previous post has the exact quote and there's no mention of a free shield. I don't quite understand why you linked that last sentence about default equipment to possible knights in your party, but I'll remove it nevertheless.
